About Yala National Park
Yala National Park is Sri Lanka's most visited and second-largest national park, covering 979 square kilometres of tropical monsoon forest and scrubland. It has one of the highest leopard densities in the world. Jeep safaris through Yala reveal elephants, crocodiles, water buffalo, sloth bears, peacocks, and the elusive Sri Lankan leopard — often spotted lounging on rocks in the early morning.
